About Us
About Us
We are a diversified, certified organic farm rooted in the Okanagan, producing organic grains, eggs, and livestock, supported by our on-farm feed mill. What started as a vision has grown into a fully integrated agricultural system—designed to improve quality, accountability, and long-term sustainability from field to finished product.
Lakeland Farms and Lakeland Feeds are built on a commitment to doing agriculture differently—guided by four core philosophies that shape every decision we make: farm for tomorrow, treat part as part of the whole, develop long-term relationships, and innovate.
Working Together for Agriculture
Lakeland Group brings together Lakeland Feeds and Lakeland Farms to support farmers with dependable feed, responsible farming practices, and a shared commitment to the land.

Our Team

Mike Schroeder
Mike Schroeder

Sarah Schroeder
Sarah grew up in Abbotsford, heavily involved in 4H and worked in several farm settings. She’s is a teacher by trade and a farmer by choice, you will find her wherever the need is greatest around the farm on any given day.

Ian & Rose Schroeder
Ian & Rose provide valuable grandparent/farm help services in all capacities when they’re not fishing, hunting or horsing! They owned the dairy farm we grew up on and helped us get a start in Salmon Arm.

Calven & Chris Garrett
Calven & Chris are long time grain farmers from the peace region of Alberta. They provide crucial help through the season and wise council when we’re up against problems!

Jennifer Garrett
Jennifer grew up a farm brat, she’s highly organized, very detailed and remarkably “crafty”. She started as an egg collector and has rapidly increased her skills and abilities. She is now our bookkeeper, administrator, marketer, planner, and she’s occasionally in the egg barn and feed bagging area too. She keeps us between the rows!

Dayla Holleman
Dayla started with us in 2024 and when we heard she grew up on a farm and was in 4H we hired her on the spot! She comes from a great family; she’s a hard worker and loves animals. She’s currently away attending Veterinary College and while we miss having her here full-time, we’re lucky that she still comes back to work with us when she’s home. We’re so proud of her and love being a part of her journey!

Gerhard Koerner
Gerhard spent part of his career with his own construction business. He always enjoyed food production though and when he moved from Terrace to Sicamous with his wife Maria he thought farming might be a good career change. When he’s not building something, you can find him operating the feed-mill most days. Gerhard’s construction experience is incredibly valuable as is his attention to detail.

Launie Bosovich
Launie grew up on a cattle ranch near Rock Creek, where she learned the value of hard work and getting your hands dirty. She later raised her own family in Kelowna and is now settling into Salmon Arm as she begins an exciting new chapter. She’s taken on every task we’ve thrown her way and has quickly developed a soft spot for the chickens (just like the rest of us!). We’re so happy to have her as part of the Lakeland family!
Eric Schroeder
Eric is a budding farmer and active Armstrong 4H Beef member. His big contributions around the farm include lawn mowing (too fast), egg collection (too slow) and helping his dad understand the GPS system in the tractor.

Lucas Schroeder
Lucas is best known for his high energy entertainment. His favorite equipment to operate is the forklift (with help) and his favorite farm animal is the mighty chicken!

Our Philosophy

Farm for Tomorrow
We believe agriculture should leave the land better than we found it. That means making decisions today that build resilience for the future—improving soil health, increasing biodiversity, and strengthening the long-term productivity of our farm.
Through organic and regenerative practices, we focus on building living soils that support strong crops, healthy animals, and a more stable food system. Farming for tomorrow isn’t a slogan—it’s a responsibility to the next generation.

Treat The Part As Part Of The Whole
Everything on our farm is connected. Soil health affects crop quality. Crop quality affects feed. Feed affects animal health. And all of it impacts the food people consume.
We don’t view our farm as separate pieces—we manage it as a complete system. By integrating grain production, feed milling, and livestock, we maintain control over quality at every step. This whole-system approach allows us to be more intentional, more efficient, and more accountable in how we produce food.

Develop Long Term Relationships
Strong agriculture depends on strong relationships. We are committed to building trust—with our customers, our partners, and the broader farming community.
Whether it’s supplying high-quality organic feed, working with other producers, or serving families who rely on our products, we take a long-term view. We believe consistency, transparency, and doing what we say we will do are the foundation of lasting relationships.

Innovate
We are always looking for better ways to farm. Innovation for us isn’t about chasing trends—it’s about solving real problems and improving how we operate.
From investing in our feed mill to refining our production practices, we continually look for opportunities to increase efficiency, improve product quality, and strengthen our impact. We respect traditional agriculture, but we’re not afraid to challenge it when there’s a better way forward.

Our Why
We believe food should be a source of health, not compromise. To us, food is medicine. The way it is grown, processed, and handled directly affects the well-being of the people who consume it.
Our purpose is to grow healthy, nutrient-dense, and affordable food while improving human health and strengthening our communities. By caring for the soil, raising animals responsibly, and integrating our entire supply chain, we are working to build a food system people can trust—one that supports both the land and the families who depend on it.

Lakeland Feeds attends the annual Okanagan 4-H Stock Show & Sale, and when we have the opportunity, we try to purchase a steer. 4-H provides youth with the guidance, resources, and opportunities to become contributing members of agriculture, their community, their country, and the world. It prepares them for various paths of life, and encourages them to find their sense of self, purpose, and responsibility. We are thrilled to support the leaders of tomorrow!
